The fanciest ingredients in this salad are avocados and poppy seeds for the dressing.
All you need to make this salad are fresh strawberries, avocados, mixed greens, pecans, feta cheese and poppy seed dressing. You can buy a ready-made dressing from the store, but I recommend you follow the recipe link in their blog. Again, the ingredients are simple, Olive oil, balsamic vinaigrette, honey, salt, pepper, and poppy seeds. You can add mayonnaise for a creamy dressing, but I prefer the taste and aesthetic appeal of the original recipe.
The red strawberries and white feta cheese play off the mixed greens and avocados to create a colorful salad, and the oil in the dressing gives the salad a shimmery quality.
One of the things I like about this link are the suggestions for changing up the salad to add different fruits, nuts, or cheeses. I also like the nutritional information provide about the strawberries and poppy seeds.
This was super easy to make and took under ten minutes to assemble the ingredients and plate the salad. As you can see, it’s a colorful salad to serve in the winter, and it’s quick and delicious.
