It’s the first month of the new year! For those of us in the North, this typically means cold, snow, and ice unless we travel south or west to bask in the sun. American football and hockey are on our TV sets and we’ll sit in unbelievably cold stadiums and arenas to cheer on our kids and our favorite teams. Sometimes we play in the snow forgetting for a few hours that we are supposed to be the grown-ups and not the children of our yesteryears. My boys loved when mom came outside to play.
It’s time to load up those bird feeders and make sure our pets are safely inside and their paws are protected from harsh road salts and chemicals.
We remember the birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and honor his commitment to making our country a place of fairness, equality, and opportunity for all.
As much as we all complain, there’s no denying the beauty of a fresh snowfall or the majesty of the animals of winter. We hope you enjoy January in Pictures!
